Art on the River is a curated visual arts experience within the Rockin’ the River Arts & Music Festival, celebrating original artwork and creative connection in downtown Elba, Alabama.
Hosted inside the historic Elba Theatre and extending into the surrounding festival footprint, Art on the River brings together a gallery exhibition and an outdoor artist market in a welcoming, community-centered setting.
This year marks the first year of a formal juried and vetting process—reflecting a growing commitment to intentional curation, artistic integrity, and a high-quality experience for both artists and visitors as the event continues to evolve.

Gallery Experience Step into the historic Elba Theatre, where a curated collection of original works is thoughtfully displayed. This space invites a slower, more immersive experience with the art and the stories behind it.
Featured Artists A selection of invited artists whose work is highlighted within the gallery and across the festival, representing distinctive creative voices and refined craftsmanship.
Live Art Demonstrations Experience art in motion as select artists create throughout the day. Demonstrations will include stained glass, masking tape art, corn husk doll making, and live painting—offering a rich blend of traditional craft and contemporary expression. These interactive moments invite guests to witness the creative process up close, sparking curiosity, appreciation, and inspiration.
Artist Alley Vendor Art Market An open-air artist market woven throughout the festival, where visitors can meet artists, explore a wide range of handmade and original work, and purchase directly from the creators.
Brooke Chapman Memorial Kid’s Art Gallery A special gallery space honoring creativity, imagination, and the legacy of Brooke Chapman. This gallery features artwork created by young artists, offering a meaningful and inspiring glimpse into the next generation of creators. Children's Art and Maker's Fair Young entrepreneurs and artists, ages 17 and below, sharing their handmade creations in a dedicated space within the festival. This area celebrates creativity, confidence, and the joy of bringing ideas to life.
